Pilates has emerged as one of the most popular forms of exercise worldwide. In the UK, this industry is worth over £875.4 million. Nowadays, we have access to Pilates studios, DVDs, books, and comfortable Pilates socks that keep your feet warm during training sessions.
It’s not a popular statement, and not what the advertisers of health foods and diet programmes would have us believe, but physical fitness cannot be purchased! And it definitely can’t be wished into existance.
Socks have been around for a very long time. In fact, there’s evidence that the Romans wore socks with their sandals and certainly socks existed well before then, in one form or another.
Completing things is hard. I’ve always found it much easier to begin something thant to finish it. And this is true for most people, in just about every area of life.
Pilates was conceived at the beginning of the 20th century by Joseph Pilates. Joseph originally named his innovative fitness system ‘Contrology’.
The Plank exercise is well-known. It has become part of many workout routines as it is excellent for developing core strength.
Perseverance. It’s key to achieving just about anything. And not least physical health and fitness. This week’s #WednesdayWisdom from Joseph Pilates encourages us to stick with pilates, even when it’s tough!
