Perseverance. It's key to achieving just about anything. And not least physical health and fitness. This week's #WednesdayWisdom from Joseph Pilates encourages us to stick with pilates, even when it's tough!
"In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 you'll see the different, and in 30 you'll have a new body."
It's not easy sticking at something which is difficult - but the benefits of persisting with an exercise of any type are clear.
Not only does exercise have a positive impact on our general physical fitness and wellbeing, it also benefits us mentally. Also, if you undertake pilates (or any other kind of exercise) in a group setting you'll enjoy the camaraderie of working out together and see the whole group progress over time.
The first session may feel like torture - exercise is purposefully hard work. But over time, and hopefully fairly quickly, you'll feel fitter and healthier. There'll be a spring in your step!
So stick with it. You'll feel so much better once you've got a few sessions under your belt, and before long you'll be seeing a physical difference too.
